RM Handyman Services is run by Ron with over 25 years experience of property maintenance. None of the work is sub-contracted out, it's all done by Ron, so you can be sure of consistent quality, value for money, and a friendly service.
Are you insured?
Yes, I'm fully insured with £2m Public Liability insurance. In the unlikely event it's ever needed, it’s there for peace of mind (yours and mine).
(You should always check a tradesman is properly insured before allowing work on your property).
Why don’t you do larger jobs such as fitting kitchens?
I prefer to do jobs that normally take between an hour to a day so that I can provide a consistent service to my clients. I specialise in small jobs that do not require expensive specialist tradesmen.
Are you CORGI or NICEIC registered?
No. However I can carry out many basic plumbing and electrical jobs and can advise you if you need to contact a specialist tradesman.
What does the hourly rate include?
The hourly rate is a labour-only fee. The price does not include parts or materials which you can supply or which I can source and will charge for. (I carry lots of small parts in the vehicle). Parking charges, if required, are charged at cost.
Do you round up to the nearest hour?
No. I round to the nearest quarter hour because that's fairer and it helps keep your costs down.
Do you carry many parts?
I carry the most commonly required parts such as screws and wall fixings, etc. If I need to go and get something for your job, I will need to charge for that.
Do you give Free Estimates?
Yes, my estimates are free of charge.
Can you come and give me a Free Estimate?
I can usually give a fairly accurate estimate over the phone. When I arrive at the job I will be able to confirm the estimate, and at this point, if the job looks like it will take longer than expected, you can change your mind without being charged. Estimates are free of charge.
What are your hours of business?
I'm available Monday to Friday 8.30 to 6pm. But please feel free to contact me if you require a handyman outside these hours, as I am often able to oblige.
How do your appointments work?
Your time is valuable. After agreeing an appointment time, I take care to arrive within 5 minutes of the agreed time and am rarely late.
Who do you do work for?
I do work for Home Owners, Landlords, Residents, Offices, Businesses and Letting Agencies in Edinburgh.
How do I pay?
Payment is on completion of the work. I accept payment by cash or cheque.
